Beginner Tips
Keep it simple
You don't need 50 different lures. Master one rig first — Texas rig works in almost any pond or lake.
Go slow
Most beginners reel too fast. Cast out, let it sink, then drag slow. Bass often hold close to cover and may strike when the bait pauses or moves slowly.
Fish the edges
Fish near weed lines, docks, fallen trees, and shaded banks. Bass love structure and cover.
Set the hook firmly
When you feel a tap, wait a half second, then sweep the rod tip up. A firm hook set is better than a fast one.
Soft Bait Color Note
Soft plastic colors may vary by kit. Each kit is packed with beginner-friendly colors for local pond and lake fishing.
| Water Clarity | Good Starting Colors |
| Clear water | Natural colors (green pumpkin, smoke, pearl) |
| Stained water | Mixed colors (pumpkinseed, chartreuse) |
| Muddy / dark water | Dark + high contrast (black & blue, black & red, chartreuse) |
